1. Club Overview

  • Stadium: Stamford Bridge
  • Location: London, England
  • Capacity: 40,341
  • Official Site: chelseafc.com

Russian oligarch money may have transformed Chelsea (it’s now under American money), but don't let its trendy upmarket location (technically it's in the London area of Fulham) fool you. During the 1970’s and 1980’s Chelsea fans were notorious for being some of the toughest hooligans in English soccer. But rest assured those hooligan days are in the past—now the most trouble you’ll have is if the restaurants have run out of quinoa. Stamford Bridge underwent redevelopment in the early 2000’s. As late as the mid-1990’s you would see cars parked at the one end of the soccer field.

2. How to Buy Tickets

To purchase tickets for men’s games at Stamford Bridge, you will need to be a member. Chelsea have three memberships to choose from: True Blue, CFC Blue, and Forwarding.

Forwarding: £15

Forwarding allows you to use tickets that another member (e.g a season ticket holder) has forwarded on to you. Note that this membership does not allow you to use the ticket exchange to seek out available tickets.

CFC Blue: £45

This gives you the chance to buy tickets in your ticket window (phase 2). It also gives you access to the ticket exchange too. With this membership you also get a £10 eVoucher to use in the club shop.

True Blue: £60

This membership gives you access to the ticket exchange, and also buy tickets in the phase 1 ticket window. You also get a £15 eVoucher to use in the club shop. You also get a 2 for 1 on the stadium tours (i.e. you buy one adult ticket and get one for free!).

Junior Blues (under 16’s): £35

This membership is the child version of the True Blue. You get all the same privileges except you get a £10 eVoucher instead of £15 and you get one child ticket to the stadium tour.

The tickets are sold in phases known as a sale or ticket windows. The membership you have depends on when your ticket window is. The ticket windows are these:

  • Phase 1: Members with a True Blue or Junior Blue tier of Membership can purchase one match ticket per person.
  • Phase 2: Members with a True Blue/Junior Blue tier of Membership who have not already purchased a match ticket and members with CFC Blue Membership can purchase one match ticket per person (Chelsea will ringfence some tickets for the Priority 2 group).
  • Phase 3: Season ticket holders and all members (excluding Ticket Forwarding) will be able to purchase an extra two match tickets (maximum of three match tickets in total per person).
  • General Release Phase: Any remaining tickets will be sold to the public (unlikely).

High-demand matches (Category AA) are very difficult to access—even for members. For best chances, target lower-profile fixtures. Members also get access to The Ticket Exchange (resale platform) and hospitality tickets are always available without needing membership.

3. Ticket Prices

Chelsea categorize games into a whopping 8 levels:

  • Category AA: Arsenal, Liverpool, Man City, Man United, Spurs
  • Category A: Everton, West Ham, Newcastle, Aston Villa
  • Category B: Newly promoted and lower-table teams (e.g. Wolves)
  • Category C: Could be some of the smaller premier league teams. Domestic cup games (FA Cup, League Cup)
  • Category D: Domestic cup games (FA Cup, League Cup)
  • Category E: Will be mid-week games agaisnt very small clubs in the cups competitions especially early rounds.
  • Category F: Will be mid-week games agaisnt very small clubs in the cups competitions especially early rounds.
  • Category G: Will be mid-week games agaisnt very small clubs in the cups competitions especially early rounds.

Exact match-by-match classification will be announced by Chelsea before the season begins. Ticket prices vary by category and seating area.

4. Hospitality

Chelsea FC have a range of hospitality packages available. They do get sold out quite fast though, and you should be prepared to dress appropriately for the package you have bought. Many of the packages have dress codes (often does not apply to children under the age of 12). You are, however, guaranteed a ticket. We don’t have any prices for these packages, but they will not be budget tickets. We think that Canoville Suite would be the cheapest with something like the Rose and Ball also being reasonably priced (or at least not crazily expensive). The Platinum and the boxes will be expensive. If you wish to experience these at a fraction of the cost, try the packages for the women's team rather than the men’s team. You can contact the hospitality team: +44 207 386 9373 for overseas callers, and at clubchelsea@chelseafc.com.

Canoville Suite

This package has a two course meal, access to a bar but you’ll have to pay for any drinks consumed. You do get a free matchday programme (a small magazine for that day's game) which makes a nice souvenir. Your padded seat is located in the East Stand in the middle tier, near to the penalty box line.

Rose and Ball

This package gets you free drinks (beer, wine, soda), a three course meal, and a free matchday programme (a small magazine for that day's game) which makes a nice souvenir. Seats are located in the West Stand lower tier, and also the East Stand Upper tier. You also get to meet an ex-men’s player too.

This area has a relaxed dress code (smart sneakers, smart jeans, tailored and casual shorts - not basketball shorts, and tracksuits) and whilst away fans are welcome, openly supporting the away team (e.g. wearing away colors) may result in you not being admitted. You have been warned. You need to arrive 2.5 hours before the game to guarantee being fed. If you arrive later than an hour before the game, then a meal cannot be guaranteed. It opens 3 hours before the game, and the hospitality area stays open for 1 hour after the end of the game.

1905 Package at the Rose and Ball

This package gets you a three course meal, free drinks (wine, beer, soda), champagne on arrival, a cheese board post-match, and of course a padded luxury seat located in the West Stand upper tier, between the edge of the penalty area and the halfway line. You also get a free matchday programme (a small magazine for that day's game) which makes a nice souvenir. It opens 3 hours before the game, and the hospitality area stays open for 1 hour after the end of the game.

This area has a smart casual dress code (smart jeans or tailored shorts, smart sneakers, tracksuits and Chelsea soccer jerseys are allowed. Basketball shorts, offensive T-shirts or away colors are not permitted). You need to ensure you arrive a minimum of 30 minutes before the match starts to ensure you are served any hot food. Access to the 1905 Club package is via the 1905 Club restaurant, which is located next to the Copthorne Hotel. Access to the seats is via the West Upper gates in the West Stand.

Bottomless At The Bridge

With this package you are greeted with a glass of prosecco (non-alcoholic version available) about 2.5 hours before the match starts. You also get a self service buffet meal, a live DJ to help the atmosphere and of course a luxury padded seat located in the West Stand middle tier around the same area as the penalty box. Prices start at £80 per person and you can upgrade to get free prosecco, house wine, or beer for only an extra £20 per person.

The Backstage Pass

This package, as the name suggests, gets you access to the home team locker room before the match starts where you can help the kit person lay out the soccer kit of your favourite player, entry to the media room, players tunnel and gets to pitchside (only Premier League games, not European or Cup games). This package is located in your own private box hence why it’s aimed at small groups rather than individuals.

5. Where to Sit

Matthew Harding Stand (North): Passionate home fans (especially lower tier) and strong atmosphere. Expect to stand in the lower tier. The Lower tier is the area with safe standing, so expect to stand for the entire game.

Shed End (South): Home and away fans (segregated in the corner next to the EAst Stand); lively experience.

East Stand: Excellent views; good for families and casual fans. The lower tier is the location of the family section. The managers sit here in the dugouts. The Players Tunnel is this side too.

West Stand: Premium seats and hospitality; a more relaxed setting.

Stamford Bridge underwent extensive renovation in the 1990’s. There are four stands: Matthew Harding Stand (North Stand), Shed End (South Stand), East Stand and West Stand. The Shed End is the end you will approach from as this is the nearest stand to Fulham Road, the only way to get into the stadium. On your left facing the Shed End is the West Stand, with the East Stand located on your right. At the far end, by the museum, is the Matthew Harding Stand.

All four stands have two seating tiers, but the East and West Stand’s have hospitality between the two tiers of seating. The players' tunnel and dugouts are on the East Stand. All stands and seats have good views. There are obstructions to your view in the East Stand Upper tier and Matthew Harding Lower tier in the corners. Check the seat views in the seating plan before buying.

Away fans sit in the corner between the Shed End and the East Stand. The best atmosphere is in the lower tier of the Matthew Harding Stand. The East and West Stand’s both have great views. The Shed End is supposed to be where the Chelsea “Ultra’s” (English people don’t really call the hardcore fans ultra, that’s more of a European thing) sit.

Personally I think I’d sit in the upper tier of the Matthew Harding Stand, close enough to the hardcore fans to get the atmosphere, but high enough to get views. You can see the view from each seat here: https://www.chelseafc.com/en/seating-plan

6. Getting There

Address: Stamford Bridge, Fulham Road, London SW6 1HS
Nearest Stations: Fulham Broadway (District Line), West Brompton & Imperial Wharf (Overground)
Important: Only Fulham Road provides access due to surrounding railway lines.

Whichever method you use, note that access to the Stamford Bridge is only possible via Fulham Road to the south of the stadium. If you want to travel in an interesting way, consider using a riverboat. Otherwise the tube. It will get busy close to the game start, and very busy after the game.

London Underground (Tube):

There are several underground stations near to Stamford Bridge. The closest tube station is Fulham Broadway. This station is in zone 2 on the District Line. Make sure to head towards Wimbledon. It links directly with Paddington Railway station. You could also walk (25 minutes) to Earls Court tube station. This may be a better option after the game.

Train:

The nearest train station is Imperial Wharf which connects with Clapham Junction. This is a 20 minute walk to the stadium. The other nearest station is West Brompton. This is a 25 minute walk to the stadium.

River Boat:

This makes a nice unusual way to approach Chelsea. Route R86 travels between Putney and Blackfriars operating during peak hours Monday to Friday. The closest pier to Stamford Bridge is Chelsea Harbour which is a 14-minute walk via Lots Road, Kings Road and Holmead Road.

By Bus:

The following bus services stop directly outside the Britannia Gate entrance to Stamford Bridge. Many other services pass close by through the Fulham Broadway area. An adult single journey will cost £1.75.

  • 14 – From Putney Heath (Green Man) – Warren Street or Gower Street.
  • 211 – Hammersmith - Waterloo Station /Upper Taxi Road.
  • 414 – Putney Bridge Station – Chippenham Road Maida Hill.

By Car:

If you’re planning on coming by car you need to ensure it is ULEZ (Ultra Low Emission Zone) compliant (check here). This zone operates 24/7 except Christmas Day (25th December). But yay! Stamford Bridge is not inside the London Congestion Zone, so you won’t need to worry about that unless you accidentally drive through downtown London. If you’re worried you can check here.

Driving……

….from the North, East or West:

Use the M25 to take you round to Junction 15 and turn off onto the M4 towards London, follow the M4 which becomes the A4 up to Hammersmith. Stay on it over the Hammersmith Flyover and for a further 1.5 miles before turning off for Earl's Court. Go past Earl's Court Station and down the one-way system until you hit Fulham Road, turn right at the traffic lights. Go straight for 600 yards and the ground is on your right. Parking is difficult very close to the ground so you may want to look a bit further away.

….from the South:

Head for Wandsworth Bridge to cross the river. If using Wandsworth Bridge, cross the river and head straight up Wandsworth Bridge Road. At the junction with New King's Road, turn right and then immediately left. This will take you up to Fulham Broadway, turn right onto Fulham Road and the ground is 400 yards on your left. Parking is difficult very close to the ground so you may want to look a bit further away.

Parking:

Best of luck with that. Personally if I were planning on driving to Stamford Bridge I’d park on the outskirts of London where there is a tube station and free on-street parking. You can check justpark.com or parkopedia.co.uk for spaces near to Stamford Bridge. There is a car park at Fulham Broadway. Expect roads to be very busy.

Taxi:

Uber works well in London. However note that the only road to access Stamford Bridge (A304 Fulham Road) is closed for 90 minutes before the game starts. It’s closed between Harwood Road on the East side of the stadium until Hortensia Road on the West side. The road will not re-open for 90 minutes after the game finishes. It will take at least 40 minutes to get from Heathrow to Stamford Bridge by taxi. Personally I’d allow for longer.

Cycling:

There is bicycle storage available at Stamford Gate. You will need to bring your own lock.

Walking:

The only way to access Stamford Bridge is to come via Fulham Road. You cannot enter via any other road.

Airport:

London is served by several airports, most notably Heathrow and Gatwick airport. Gatwick is to the South West of London, and Heathrow is to the West. Heathrow is the most convenient. There is the little used London City airport too. Cheap flights from Europe often head to London Luton or to Stansted (both North of London).

7. Food, Drink & Pubs

For food there are lots of places to choose from including some of the pubs already listed. Here are some others nearby that are highly rated:

If these weren’t enough for you there are two restaurants actually at Stamford Bridge. One is located next to the hotel and is called Frankie’s Sports Bar and Grill (https://maps.app.goo.gl/KMdBMpe8NzSCXZxaA). You can even sit in there for the entire game if you don’t have a ticket as it’s open throughout the game.

The other is located inside the hotel and is called 55 Restaurant (https://maps.app.goo.gl/j9m4Lt3AthxRqf3y6). It opens 2.5 hours before games start. You can of course stay at the hotel: https://www.discoverasr.com/en/others/united-kingdom/stamford-bridge-hotel-london

9. Tours & Museum

Chelsea have several different stadium tour options. You have The Stadium Tour (imaginative title, right?), The Classic Tour, The Chelsea Women Treble Winners Tour, VIP Private Tour, The Legends Tour (with Kerry Dixon ex-men’s player), The Group Tour, The Birthday Tour, and The Matchday Mini-Tour. They also have a British Sign Language Tour too (see the Accessibility section for information). It is recommended that you spend at least 30 minutes in the museum.

Chelsea have introduced the 2025 Tour+ which means you can download extra content to your phone when you purchase a tour ticket. Tours are all in English, although the Tour+, which provides text for all of the areas visited, and are available in other languages (Italian, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Brazilian, Chinese Mandarin, Japanese, Korean and Hebrew). For all tours you need to head to the Tour Ticket Desk inside the Tour & Museum entrance. You can find this next to the Matthew Harding Stand. All tours visit the same areas except the match day tour and all are guided tours. They all finish in the Chelsea Mega store. Your tour ticket will be emailed to you. You will need to provide this to the tour team.

The Museum

You can choose to visit the museum only if you wish to do so. Tickets cost £15 for an adult, £12 for a child, and £13 for student/senior. All the tours also include access to the museum as part of the ticket.

The Stadium Tour

This is a one hour guided tour that visits the locker rooms, media room, players tunnel, and you get to visit the soccer field (sidelines only!). You will visit the Matthew Harding stand, the East Stand, and the Shed End as well as the manager dugouts. You get to have photos with match worn jerseys, a green screen CGI picture of you and your favourite player, and access to the Chelsea museum which you can visit either before or after the tour. The Stadium Tour lasts for 60 minutes and departs every 20 minutes.

The Classic Tour

This guided tour extends the Stadium Tour. You will enjoy (or else!) a 30 minute “visual presentation of Chelsea FC’s history”. The Classic Tour lasts 90 minutes but only departs once per day. Otherwise it covers the same areas of the stadium as the Stadium Tour. You also get access to the museum before or after your tour.

The Chelsea Women Treble Winners Tour

This 90 minute guided tour focuses on the Women’s team, but you’ll also visit all the same areas of the stadium as the Stadium Tour. You also get to see the Women’s team trophies too. Access to the museum is included. Note that this tour only runs on selected Sunday’s.

VIP Private Tour

This is a private guided tour that you take in your own little group (max 4 people!). It lasts 60 minutes and includes all the same areas of the stadium as the other tours. You also get access to the museum too. The one major difference to this is that you get a 2 course meal at the Frankie’s Sports Bar and Grill (map). Check the website for tour times and dates (www.chelseafc.com/en/stadium-tours-and-museum).

The Legends Tour

This is a 90 minute guided tour with former men’s player Kerry Dixon. You get to enjoy the normal stadium tour accessing all the same areas, but you also get a question and answer session with Kerry. You also get access to the museum before or after your tour.

The Group Tour

The group tour is aimed at school groups, or such organisations. It’s not aimed at individual fans. If you’re coming as part of a Supporters Group, you should contact Chelsea to see if you can get a tour like this (you need a minimum of 15 of you). It’s guided and lasts for 60 minutes and covers all the main areas, including the museum either before or after the tour.

The Birthday Tour

This tour is aimed at children aged 6 to 14 years old who are having a birthday party. It’s not aimed at individual fans. It needs a minimum of 10 children and has a maximum of 40 children. It’s a private 60 minute tour covering all the same areas as the other tours. The main difference is that the child is given a birthday gift and a 6x9 photo too.

The Matchday Mini-Tour

This tour is on match days. It’s a shortened 30 minute guided tour. You may not be able to visit all of the areas of the stadium as you would normally. You do get access to the museum either before or after your tour.

The stadium tours and museum run 7 days a week, except for the 24th, 25th, 26th December, Chelsea home match days and certain days before UEFA match days. Always check beforehand.

Depending on the time of the year, the stadium tours and museum change their opening times (yeah I don’t know why they open at odd times either, they just do!):

Months Stadium Tour Museum Museum Center
September - March 9.40am - 3pm 9.20am - 5pm 9.20am - 4.30pm
April - June 9.40am - 4pm 9.20am - 6pm 9.20am - 5.30pm
July & August 9.40am - 5pm 9.20am - 6.30pm 9.20am - 6.30pm

You can walk up on the day and buy a stadium tour, but these will cost £2 per ticket more. The prices below are the pre-booked prices. During June or July, the soccer field undergoes maintenance meaning it might not be green and have the soccer field markings etc.

10. Accessibility

Disabled fans are well looked after at Stamford Bridge. The club provides a wide range of services and facilities to ensure accessibility for all, including wheelchair users, ambulant disabled supporters, and fans with sensory needs.

There are 222 wheelchair bays across the stadium (192 for home fans and 30 for away fans), plus 334 easy-access seats. Most wheelchair bays have an adjacent or nearby Personal Assistant (PA) seat, although layout varies slightly by stand. Accessible entrances are available in each stand and are stewarded on matchdays.

Getting to the Stadium

  • Fulham Broadway Station (District Line): Full step-free access and lift access from the adjacent car park. It is the nearest accessible tube station to Stamford Bridge.
  • Imperial Wharf Station (Overground): Fully step-free and offers an accessible route, though it is a 14-minute walk away.
  • West Brompton Station: Limited step-free access. Staff assistance may not be guaranteed.

All London buses are wheelchair accessible with low floors and ramps, and there are multiple routes (e.g., 14, 211, 414) that stop near the ground. For riverboat access, Chelsea Harbour Pier is the closest and is roughly a 14-minute walk; most riverboats offer accessible boarding and toilets.

Accessible Parking and Drop-Off

On matchdays, a limited number of Blue Badge parking spaces are available in the underground car park at Stamford Bridge. These must be booked in advance, usually around 28 days before the fixture, and are first-come, first-served. Entry is via the Fulham Road entrance at Stamford Gate, but fans must arrive early (at least 2 hours before kick-off) due to road closures.

There is also a drop-off point at Stamford Gate on Fulham Road. This is steward-controlled and closes roughly 2 hours before and after the match. For non-matchdays, Blue Badge bays are available at both Stamford Bridge and Fulham Broadway Shopping Centre.

Ticket Office & Matchday Entry

The ticket office is located behind the Shed End Stand, beside the main reception. Window 7 is the accessible counter with a lower height, induction loop, and improved lighting. It usually opens 90 minutes before kick-off and remains open until half-time.

There are nine dedicated accessible entrances around the stadium, all stewarded and open from 90 minutes before kick-off. Entry to the accessible viewing areas in each stand is via level access or ramps. All turnstile areas include wheelchair-accessible gates.

Toilets and Changing Places

There are 20 accessible toilets throughout the stadium, all of which require a RADAR key. Stewards are on hand to assist if needed. Two Changing Places toilets are available—one fixed facility in the East Stand lower concourse and a Mobiloo (mobile CPT) located outside the Millennium Hotel on matchdays.

Audio Commentary and Assistance Dogs

Audio description commentary is available for blind or visually impaired fans. This can be booked in advance via the club’s access team and collected from the ticket office. Disposable headsets and high-frequency receivers are provided.

Assistance dogs are welcome at Stamford Bridge. Supporters must notify the access team in advance so that suitable arrangements can be made. There are designated toileting areas available for assistance dogs, with access via a RADAR key.

Sensory and Prayer Rooms

A sensory room is available for fans with autism or other sensory needs. It is located on the East Stand lower concourse and accommodates up to 10 people. Bookings must be made in advance through the Chelsea Foundation.

A prayer room is also available on matchdays and is located on the first floor of the Millennium Hotel. It has lift access and is steward-supported. Fans are advised to book ahead to ensure access.

Steward Support and Hidden Disabilities

Disability-trained stewards (wearing purple bibs) are stationed at all accessible entrances and within the viewing areas. They are there to assist with entry, wayfinding, and emergency procedures.

Sunflower lanyards, which indicate a hidden disability, are available from the ticket office and stadium reception on matchdays.

Accessible Catering and Retail

Lowered counters are provided at many food kiosks in the East and West Stands. Fans can also use the CFC Express app to order food and drink for in-seat delivery in certain areas.

The Chelsea Megastore is located between the West Middle South entrance and the ticket office. It is accessible via a ramped entrance and includes a lift to the first floor and a ramp to the mezzanine level. Tills are positioned at a height suitable for wheelchair users. One smaller stadium shop near Stamford Gate is not step-free and has 12 steps to access it.

Museum and Stadium Tours

The Chelsea Museum and Stadium Tours are accessible to wheelchair users. The museum is open from 9:30am to 5:00pm during the regular season (extended to 7:00pm in July and August). Stadium tours run daily from 10:00am to 4:00pm.

British Sign Language (BSL) Tours

Chelsea FC Tours has permanently introduced British Sign Language (BSL) Tours at Stamford Bridge. Running every Sunday*, this tour has been specifically designed for deaf and/or hard of hearing fans and is conducted live by a BSL tour guide. Chelsea wants all Blues fans and guests to experience the magic of the club’s iconic grounds and history, and hopes the introduction of BSL Tours is great progress towards this.

The BSL tour includes:

  • A one-hour live guided tour by a BSL tour guide
  • Photo opportunities with match-worn and match-issue items from the Chelsea men’s and women’s teams
  • CGI photo opportunities with your favorite Chelsea men's and women's team players
  • Access to Chelsea FC Museum before and/or after the tour
  • A Chelsea FC souvenir lanyard

*Subject to matchday availability. Maximum 30 persons in a tour group.

Chelsea Football Club prides itself on welcoming people of all different backgrounds and abilities. If you require wheelchair access, please inform them in advance by calling 0371 811 1955 or emailing tours@chelseafc.com so they can make the necessary arrangements.

Contact

For all access-related queries, supporters can contact the Disability Access Officer, Hannah Travers:

Fans are encouraged to notify the club in advance if they require any additional assistance, plan to bring medical equipment, or need to submit a Personal Emergency Evacuation Plan (PEEP). Forms for these requests are available via the club’s website.
